Our CEO, Michael Erdman, is an English physician and published researcher with over a decade of clinical experience in functional digestive health.
Before joining Heidelberg Medical, he was a leading practitioner of our test in Los Angeles, performing hundreds of cases alongside his colleague Dr. Farshid Rahbar, MD. Together, they worked on complex chronic digestive cases, integrated Heidelberg analysis into their clinical approach, and published research together on gastrointestinal conditions. Their work included national and regional presentations on topics ranging from SIBO pattern recognition to the gastrointestinal manifestations of vector-borne illness.
In 2026, Dr. Erdman took the role of CEO at Heidelberg Medical. He now leads our operations, our practitioner education program, and our growing clinical network. He also runs Gut Rest Digestive Health, a functional digestive health consulting practice in Los Angeles. Dr. Erdman graduated as a physician from King's College London School of Medicine in 2011.
